About UsThe Woburn Sound Barrier Committee was formed in October 2006. We are a grass roots neighborhood organization in partnership with the Burlington Sound Barrier Committee. This is not the first attempt to acquire sound/noise barriers in Woburn along Routes 128/95 and 93. There have been many Woburn residents before us that have tried to petition the state but were met with many road blocks and their efforts are to be commended. It is the intent of this committee to petition the State for the funding and ultimately the construction of sound/noise barriers. The only way to accomplish this is through citizen activism. We vow to keep our quest visible and loud! This will be accomplished through rallies and meetings, along with many letters to the newspapers/media, and lobbying on the State House. To date Burlington and Woburn have obtained more than 1,000 signatures on petitions. We have been fortunate to have the support of our local and state representatives. We thank them for their support. |
